Dana M. Cole is an experienced trial lawyer in Century City, where he has practiced law for 35 years emphasizing state and federal criminal defense cases, including narcotics cases, significant personal injury matters and contentious business disputes. He has tried over 140 jury trials in California state courts and federal courts throughout the country, including drug conspiracies, murder cases and serious sex offenses. In 2003, Mr. Cole obtained a dismissal of the co-defendant in the Robert Blake murder case and recently in the Michael Lohan domestic violence case.
Mr. Cole is a noted expert legal commentator quoted in newspapers throughout the country and national magazine articles. For the past ten years, he has served as a legal analyst for ABC NEWS and regularly appears on ABC’s Good Morning America, World New Tonight, Nightline and KABC. He has made numerous other television appearances, NBC’s TODAY Show, COURT TV, CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, commenting on high profile criminal cases, including extensive coverage for ABC on the Conrad Murray, Michael Jackson, Casey Anthony, Charlie Sheen, Mel Gibson, Kobe Bryant, Martha Stewart, Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, and Scott Peterson trials.
Mr. Cole is a graduate of UC Berkeley (’76) and UC Hastings College of Law (’79). He served as twice president of the Hastings Alumni Association (SoCal division) and is currently a member of the Hastings Board of Governors.
Mr. Cole is married to a Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge.
